“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was greater than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin

That quote perfectly captures my journey. I’ve faced many crossroads in my life, many times when the fear of staying stuck, of not living the life I was meant to live propelled me forward even through great fear and uncertainty. This was the same force that urged me to move forward on this journey of transitioning careers. It’s what I understand as our Soul’s calling.

I help others to follow their Soul’s calling so they can be led to the work they are meant to be doing–work that will bless them and the world.

At La Casa Azul, where one of my great inspirations, renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, lived.

I am also a mother of five children. Parenting them, especially now that they are all teenagers and young adults, keeps me grounded and connected to real life. So even though I often have deeply mystical experiences, I am also immersed in the everyday things that any working mom deals with: chauffeuring my kids around, packing lunches and helping them as they transition into college. My dear husband Greg is a middle school teacher and also keeps me grounded.

So how did I follow my Soul’s guidance to evolve my career? In my book, Answering Your Inner Calling: 3 Practices for Following Your Soul’s Guidance Toward Joyful and Fulfilling Work, I share my story and the three “Soul connecting” practices that emerged out of this journey.
